To explain this composition as a chemical equation: Phase 1 + Phase 2 + Phase 3 → Phase 4.

What is it?
This final phase of this Gestalt principles project involved taking everything that we made in the previous three phases - the black and white compositions, the gray-scale compositions, and the super collider - and compile images of each of these in Photoshop to create one final,10" x 20" composition.
What makes it interesting?
One interesting characteristic of this composition is the sort of radial balance that it presents the viewer. This balance is established by the artist placing many of the elements around the outer edges of the composition, while leaving a negative white space near the center of the composition. The composition also places emphasis on the cube figure in the lower right corner as a focal point, as it falls on one of the four intersections created with the rule of thirds. Integration is also very strong in this composition, as the previously made Gestalt compositions can be seen blending together and working with one another. Perhaps the best example of this is seen in the lower right hand corner of the composition, where a black square from the figure-ground composition becomes the hole of the cube from the closure composition, while another part of the figure-ground composition becomes the surface on which the cube is resting on. Another instance of this is seen with the circles used to create continuation, as they not only integrate themselves with the other elements, but they also help create movement, telling the viewer where to take their eyes next.
