Painting this thing was an absolute NiGhtMarE...

What is it?
For this project, we got to work with color in a whole new way, utilizing red, green, and blue lights to produce colors instead of paint. After creating a three-dimensional composition that was completely white, we combined a series of light color patterns and shined them onto our compositions, of which we would take numerous photos. Finally, we placed these images into Photoshop, and just started blending stuff together, finishing it off by adding painted elements to take the composition even further.
What makes it interesting?
One of the things that makes this composition appealing has to do with the sections of the painted elements that overlap, creating a combination of the colors of the two overlapping shapes. This helps to give the composition more of a lively feel, as if elements are interacting with one another rather than just standing alone in their own planes of the composition. The overall variety of shapes used also adds a great amount of interest to the composition, with larger and more vibrant shapes being emphasized in order to establish a focal point. Furthermore, the placement of these shapes seems to follow the flow of the composition created by the images underneath; it doesn't feel as if the shapes were meaninglessly scattered across the composition, but they all seem to carry a sense of direction that creates a sense of unity between the painted and non-painted elements. These particular aspects of this composition are what collectively make it as interesting as it is.
