Wait, didn't we already cover these ones? What's going on here?!

Welcome to the first part of a blog series that I'm calling "Behind the Scenes", where we take a look at some of the preliminary sketches and number-crunching that went on before some of these projects were created. This first Behind The Scenes look comes from the very first project we made in this class; the Gestalt principles!
What have we got here?
Although the project only called for three total compositions (one for each of the three Gestalt principles we had been studying), it was important to sketch up multiple ideas for each type of composition. From what I remember, of the 36 preliminary sketches shown above, I began by doing six figure-grounds, six closures, and six continuations. The other 18 was where I could kind of just go with whatever principle I felt like sketching. I think this helped because while I did force myself to work on each principle separately to meet the project criteria, I also allowed myself to aimlessly jump around between the principles.
